Perfikan from Clément-Thékan laboratories is a 3-in-1 external antiparasitic solution for veterinary use intended to repel, treat and prevent infestations by ticks , fleas, mosquitoes or sandflies (responsible for leishmaniasis) in a single gesture. Indication of Antiparasitic Medicine for Dogs

Use: This medication is indicated for dogs in the context of an infestation by fleas and/or ticks and when a repellent action against sandflies and/or mosquitoes is required.

Fleas:

• Treatment and prevention of flea ( Ctenocephalides felis ) infestations.
• Fleas present on the dog are eliminated within 24 hours following treatment.
• One application protects against new infestations for four weeks.
• Can be used as part of the treatment of Flea Bite Allergy Dermatitis (FAD), with prior diagnosis by a veterinarian.

Ticks:

• Treatment of tick infestations ( Ixodes ricinus ).
• One application provides persistent acaricidal protection for four weeks against ticks ( Ixodes ricinus , Dermacentor reticulatus , Rhipicephalus sanguineus ).
• Not all ticks of the species Dermacentor reticulatus and Rhipicephalus sanguineus may be killed within 48 hours after application.

Sandflies and Mosquitoes:

• A treatment provides a repellent action against sandflies ( Phlebotomus perniciosus ) and mosquitoes ( Culex pipiens , Aedes aegypti ) for four weeks.

How to properly apply Perfikan to your dog?

Use Perfikan using a pipette, once a month, directly applied to your animal's skin.

• Extract the pipette from the overblister. Hold it in a vertical position. Tap the narrow part of the pipette to ensure that the contents have gone down into the central part of the pipette. Break off the self-breaking end of the spot-on pipette following the engraved line.
• Part the animal's hair until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the pipette directly on the exposed skin.
• Gently squeeze several times to completely empty the contents of the pipette at two to four points depending on the dog's weight, along the back between the shoulders and the base of the tail.
• For dogs weighing less than 20 kg: apply to two points on the animal's body.
• For dogs over 20 kg: apply in 2 to 4 points on the animal's body.
• Use when flea and/or tick infestation is confirmed or when the risk of infestation is high, and when repellent action is necessary against sandflies and/or mosquitoes.

Recommended Dosage: The minimum dose is 6.7 mg of fipronil and 60 mg of permethrin per kg of body weight.

Contraindications

• Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or any of the excipients.

• Do not use in sick (systemic diseases, fever.) or convalescent animals.

• 10-20 kg: 134 mg fipronil / 1200 mg permethrin
• 20-40 kg: 268 mg of fipronil / 2400 mg of permethrin
• 40-60 kg: 402 mg fipronil / 3600 mg permethrin
• For dogs over 60 kg: use an appropriate combination of pipettes.
