Urgo Pansements Brûlures Blessures Superficielles on sale in our organic pharmacy, is used for the treatment of 1st and 2nd degree superficial domestic burns or superficial wounds.

What is Urgo Burn Wound Dressings Small Size used for?

A burn is a lesion of the tissues, often caused by contact with a source of heat for varying lengths of time. Burns come in different degrees of severity: 1st degree (sunburn-type with a bright red, painful lesion) and 2nd degree superficial (appearance of a blister).

Urgo Pansements Brûlures Blessures Superficielles combines two substances (vaseline + carboxymethylcellulose) in a tulle to relieve pain and promote wound healing.

It does not adhere to the wound, is painless to remove and does not stain.

The first step in the event of a burn: cool the burn with cold water
First and foremost, it's important to cool the burn with cold water. The earlier you do this, the more effective it is. It reduces local heat and prevents inflammation from spreading. The golden rule is the "three 15s": rinse the burn at 15°C, 15 centimetres away and for around 15 minutes.

For superficial burns, URGO has the solution!
When a blister appears, it's important to respect it as much as possible and avoid puncturing it. A blister is a bulwark against infection. If a blister does break, however, it must be disinfected. It is also advisable to apply a sterile lipid-colloid dressing or tulle such as URGO Burns and Superficial Wounds to the area to be treated.

We also offer Urgo Waterproof dressings, large size x5, at the best price in our online pharmacy.

How to use these dressings?

In the case of a superficial 2nd-degree burn: First run the wound under cold water for 15 minutes to limit the spread of the burn.

In all cases:

  • Clean the wound with an alcohol-free antiseptic.
  • Rinse with water or URGO saline solution.
  • In the case of burns, never use colored antiseptics such as eosin.
  • Dry carefully with a sterile compress.
  • As far as possible, respect the blister, which protects against infection. If the blister breaks, it must be disinfected. There's no point in removing dead skin if it doesn't go away on its own.
  • Remove the protective fins.
  • Apply to the area to be treated.

There's no need to use a cream beforehand.
The usual duration of treatment is 5 to 6 days, with renewal of the 1st dressing after 24 hours, then every 48 hours.

Precautions for use

Do not use in case of deep 2nd degree burns, 3rd degree burns, or burns on the face. In these cases, prior medical consultation is mandatory.

Reuse of a single-use product may lead to infection.

Urgo Pansements Brûlures Blessures Superficielles is reserved for the treatment of localized wounds whose size does not exceed that of a compress. On extensive burns, it is preferable for the compress to overflow to allow exudates to be absorbed. If there is no improvement in healing after 6 days, consult your doctor. For burns in children, ask your pharmacist for advice. In the presence of clinical signs of local infection (redness extending to uninjured skin, pain, etc.), consult your pharmacist or doctor. URGO Burns and superficial wounds must be used as soon as the sachet is opened, and kept away from heat, light and moisture.
