Dulcosoft Constipation Macrogol 4000 is an effective solution for the treatment of occasional constipation. It is easy to use and gentle on the digestive system.

For warnings, precautions and contraindications, please consult the dulcosoft sachet leaflet.

Occasional constipation affects millions of people in France, but this gastrointestinal disorder, the most common among adults, is particularly common among women, who suffer from it two to three times more often than men. Diet, a sedentary lifestyle and lack of exercise are common factors, but female hormones are also thought to play a role. In fact, 45% of women consider that they have always been more or less constipated, to the point of feeling anxious about it on a daily basis.

What is Dulcosoft Constipation Macrogol 4000 used for?

DulcoSoft sachets are used for the symptomatic treatment of constipation.

The main component of DulcoSoft® is macrogol 4000, an osmotic laxative. Macrogol 4000 has a high water-holding capacity. It acts as a carrier to transport liquid (water) and delays intestinal absorption of water, leading to an increase in the amount of water in the colon. It softens hard stools and increases their volume. This speeds up transit and makes evacuation easier, offering a sensation of natural relief. Macrogol 4000 has a purely physical mode of action: it is not absorbed by the body and is excreted unchanged.

Both discreet and powerful, Dulcosoft Constipation Macrogol 4000 tackles a commonly neglected and often taboo problem: occasional constipation. Whether you're a teenager, an adult or a child aged 8 and over, you can fall victim to this phenomenon. Pregnant and breast-feeding women should use this product only on medical advice.

In fact, constipation can occur for a number of reasons, notably as a result of an unsuitable diet or the use of certain medications. This digestive disorder, although common, can lead to significant complications if left unchecked. Fecal impaction, or an accumulation of hardened fecal matter, and hemorrhoids, caused by excessive straining during defecation, are among the possible consequences of constipation. Dulcosoft Constipation Macrogol 4000, available in sachets, offers you a gentle, effective solution.

Dulcosoft's sole active ingredient is macrogol 4000. Macrogol is an osmotic laxative whose mode of action draws water into the intestine, helping to hydrate and soften stools. By increasing stool volume, it facilitates transit through the intestine, offering a gentle but effective response to constipation. Macrogol 4000 has the advantage of not being absorbed by the body, and begins to take effect between 24 and 72 hours after intake.

Dulcosoft Constipation Macrogol 4000 is also distinguished by its ease of use. Tasteless, it can be easily dissolved in hot or cold beverages, or simply in water, making it virtually imperceptible when consumed. For people with gluten intolerance, you'll be reassured to know that this product is gluten-free.

Options and Supplements for Optimal Digestive Comfort

In addition to Dulcosoft Constipation Macrogol 4000, there are several other products that can benefit your intestinal well-being.

To strengthen your intestinal flora, consider adding probiotics to your daily diet. Probiolog Fort capsules, loaded with lactic ferments, help support the immune system and maintain a healthy balance of intestinal microflora.

In addition, a diet rich in fiber is essential to maintain regular intestinal transit. To complement a healthy, balanced diet, you could consider adding dietary supplements such as organic Psyllium blond, renowned for its intestinal transit-regulating properties.

Hydration also plays a crucial role in good intestinal transit. Consider incorporating magnesium-rich oral rehydration solutions into your daily routine.

And for those who prefer an alternative to Dulcosoft sachets, the Dulcosoft drinkable solution version could be an interesting option.

So don't hesitate to explore these complementary products when you buy Dulcosoft Constipation Macrogol 4000 for all-round management of your digestive comfort.

How to use this laxative

  • DulcoSoft has an unflavored taste and can be dissolved (sachet) or mixed directly (drinking solution) in water or in a cold or hot drink (approx. 150 ml): glass of water, fruit juice or tea, for example.
  • Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the recommended dose is: 1 to 2 sachets a day, dissolved in a drink, preferably all at once in the morning.
  • You can adapt the above recommended dose to suit your individual needs: from one dose (1 to 2 sachets) per day to one dose (1 to 2 sachets) every 2 days.
  • The appropriate dose is the lowest dose that produces regular soft stools.

Children under 8 years of age should not use this product.

DulcoSoft usually takes 24 to 72 hours to take effect. It should not be taken for more than 15 days. If constipation persists, the cause should be investigated.

Do not take a double dose of DulcoSoft if you have forgotten your previous dose.

Excessive doses of DulcoSoft may cause diarrhea, abdominal pain, abdominal distension or vomiting, which stops when treatment is stopped or the dose is reduced.

Significant fluid losses due to diarrhea or vomiting may require correction of electrolyte imbalance. In these circumstances, contact a doctor.

There are several types of constipation:

  • Acute constipation: intestinal transit decreases, thereby reducing the frequency of bowel movements. The patient finds it harder to defecate and may end up not having a bowel movement at all.
  • Transient or occasional constipation: when the patient has no more than 3 bowel movements a week for several weeks at a time.
  • Severe constipation, which can last several days. It is also resistant to treatment, with the patient having only one bowel movement a week.
  • Chronic constipation: severe constipation that occurs suddenly over a shorter period of time, i.e. acute; or over several weeks or months, i.e. chronic.

Precautions for use

In case of pregnancy or breastfeeding DulcoSoft can be taken, nevertheless, it is recommended to seek advice from a doctor before using DulcoSoft.

Do not use :

  • in case of allergy to macrogol 4000 or any of its components,
  • in children under 8 years of age,

  • in case of digestive perforation or risk of digestive perforation,
  • ileus, suspected intestinal obstruction or symptomatic stenosis,
  • abdominal pain syndromes of undetermined cause.
  • As with all laxatives, an organic disorder should be ruled out before starting treatment.
  • DulcoSoft should not be used daily over a prolonged period without determining the cause of constipation.
  • Consult a doctor in the event of persistent abdominal pain.
  • In the event of diarrhoea, patients prone to disturbances of fluid or electrolyte balance (e.g. the elderly, patients with hepatic or renal insufficiency, or patients taking diuretics) should be treated with caution and electrolyte balance monitored.
  • Allergic manifestations (such as anaphylactic shock or reaction, angioedema, urticaria, rash, hypersensitivity) have been reported in patients taking macrogol-containing products.
  • In case of signs or symptoms described above, stop taking DulcoSoft and consult a doctor immediately.
  • DulcoSoft is suitable for diabetics and patients on a low-sodium diet.

Composition Dulcosoft Laxative

1 sachet of 10 g powder contains 10 g Macrogol 4000 (no excipients).

Macrogol is an osmotic laxative, capable of increasing the volume of intestinal fluids. This increase will both soften stools and stimulate the intestine and colon (via neuromuscular receptors in the wall of the digestive tract). They will then increase their motricity to expel the stool, which will also have become less dense.

Dietary fibre and obesity: the key role of the pharmacist Dietary fibre and obesity: the key role of the pharmacist

It is widely recognised by researchers thata high-fibre diet protects against obesity and diabetes. However, the mechanisms involved had remained mysterious for almost two decades. In 2014, a Franco-Swedish team of researchers from CNRS, Inserm and Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (Inserm Unit 855 "Nutrition and the Brain") elucidated this mechanism, which involves the intestinal flora and the gut's ability…

How intestinal microbiota and dietary fibre improve your health How intestinal microbiota and dietary fibre improve your health

Dietary fibre, mainly of plant origin, resists digestion and absorption in the human small intestine. Unlike other nutrients, it passes intact into the colon. It is at this stage that the intestinal microbiota, a dense community of microorganisms in the large intestine, comes into play. This microbiota ferments dietary fibre, producing short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) such as acetate, propionate and…
