Dulcosoft Mild Laxative 10 sachets is a macrogol-based medical device used for the symptomatic treatment of constipation and for the softening of hard stools.
For warnings, precautions for use and contraindications, please consult the instructions for use of dulcosoft in sachet.
Occasional constipation concerns millions of French people, but this gastrointestinal disorder, the most common in adults, is mainly the prerogative of women, who suffer from it two to three times more than men. Diet, physical inactivity and lack of exercise are common factors, but female hormones also play a role in this pathology. Moreover, 45% of women consider that they have always been more or less constipated, to the point of feeling anxiety on a daily basis.
DulcoSoft sachets are used for the symptomatic treatment of constipation .
The main component of DulcoSoft® is macrogol 4000, an osmotic laxative . Macrogol 4000 has a high water retention capacity. It serves as a carrier to transport liquid (water) and delays the intestinal absorption of water resulting in an increase in the amount of water in the colon. There it softens hard stools and increases their volume. This leads to faster transit and easier evacuation, providing a feeling of natural relief. Macrogol 4000 has a purely physical mode of action: it is not absorbed by the body and is excreted unchanged.
Children under the age of 8 should not use this product.
DulcoSoft usually takes 24-72 hours to take effect. It should not be taken for more than 15 days. If constipation persists, the cause should be investigated.
Do not take a double dose of DulcoSoft if you forget the previous dose.
Excessive doses of DulcoSoft may cause diarrhea, abdominal pain, abdominal distension or vomiting which stops when treatment is discontinued or the dose reduced.
Significant fluid losses due to diarrhea or vomiting may require correction of electrolyte imbalance. In these circumstances, contact a doctor.
There are several types of constipation:
1 sachet of 10 g of powder contains 10 g of Macrogol 4000 (no excipients).
Macrogol is an osmotic laxative substance, it is able to cause an increase in the volume of intestinal fluids. This increase will on the one hand soften the stools and on the other hand stimulate the intestine and the colon (via neuromuscular receptors found in the wall of the digestive tract). They will then increase their motricity so as to expel the stools which will also have become less dense.
