What is Pranarom Tarragon Essential Oil 5ml used for?
Native to the Middle East, Arab physicians were already using it in the year 1000. In the Middle Ages, Avicene described its antispasmodic and digestive properties. Its current reputation is due to its effectiveness in eliminating gas and intestinal fermentation, as well as menstrual pain. The essential oil is widely used in aromatherapy for its neuromuscular antispasmodic, antiviral and antiallergic properties.
Tarragonessential oil has smooth muscle antispasmodic properties. It is anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti-allergic and antibacterial (Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli). It is an antifermentary, intestinal antiseptic and antifungal essential oil. It is also a stomachic, an aperitif and a carminative. It is anticonvulsant and sedative. A psycho-emotional tonic and anti-stress agent, it also has interesting anticholinesterase activity.
Drugs that increase cholinergic activity in the central nervous system are used to treat Alzheimer's-type dementia (there is a reduction in cholinergic neurons in the cortex and hippocampus in patients with this type of dementia). Cholinesterase inhibitors increase acetylcholine levels at neuronal synapses by inhibiting the enzyme responsible for degrading acetylcholine, thus boosting cholinergic transmission.
Tarragon essential oil has antibacterial properties, making it an effective agent against various infections. In particular, it is recognized for its anti-infectious activity in the urinary tract, its antibacterial action against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, and its antifungal effect on candida.
This essential oil is also appreciated for its digestive properties. It acts as a digestive stimulant, anti-fermentative and intestinal antiseptic. What's more, it is considered stomachic, aperitive and carminative, making it an invaluable ally in promoting healthy, comfortable digestion.
Tarragon essential oil has anti-allergic properties, giving it antihistaminic and anti-inflammatory effects. It can be beneficial in relieving symptoms associated with allergies and inflammatory reactions. Neurologically, this essential oil acts as a neuromuscular antispasmodic, giving it anticonvulsant and sedative properties. It is also a psycho-emotional tonic, which can help relieve stress and anxiety.
An interesting feature of Tarragon essential oil is its anticholinesterase activity. This activity increases cholinergic activity in the central nervous system. It can be used in the treatment of Alzheimer's-type dementia, where a decrease in cholinergic neurons is observed. Inhibition of the enzyme responsible for degrading acetylcholine thus promotes an increase in cholinergic transmission.
