Our tips and expert advice in pharmacy
The mechanism of action of hydroxycitric acid (HCA), the active substance contained extracts of Garcinia cambogia, is interesting. According animal data, the AHC have the ability to prevent fat cells to store fat from eating sugars. Sugars and starches are stored in the body as fat by an enzyme called citrate lyase ATP. HCA inhibits this enzyme. This inhibitory effect, tested in animals is controversial in humans. Indeed, in the latter, the fat storage mechanism is more complex, because it does not depend exclusively carbohydrates.
