What is Arkorelax Sleep Fort 1.9mg melatonin used for?

Arkorelax Sommeil Fort in tablets is a food supplement from the Arkopharma laboratory which contains melatonin . It is a hormone produced by the pineal gland (also called the epiphysis). Melatonin secretion is inhibited in the presence of light and stimulated when it is dark. Maximum production is reached from 2 a.m. to 5 a.m., hence the names sleep hormone or darkness hormone. Through melatonin, the pineal gland informs the brain about the relative durations of the hours of darkness and light over a 24-hour period (daily cycle), but also throughout the year (seasonal cycle). By secreting melatonin, the pineal gland “tells” the brain that it is dark and that it is a good time to sleep.

Arkorelax Sommeil Fort is enriched with natural active ingredients:

  • Valerian , Passionflower to help find relaxation at bedtime.
  • Eschscholzia (California poppy) to regain quality sleep, in particular by limiting nighttime awakenings.

Our advice and opinions from pharmacy experts

Here are some tips to better prepare for falling asleep and sleeping:

  • Favor certain foods that help you sleep well . This is particularly the case for foods rich in tryptophan, such as legumes (lentils, chickpeas, dried beans), seeds (squash, sesame, sunflower, pumpkin), cashew nuts, dates, bananas or mango.
  • Eating dinner 2 or 3 hours before going to bed allows you to have time to digest before and not during sleep , which would disrupt it.
  • Avoid caffeine from 4 p.m., which could prevent us from falling asleep.
  • Take micro-naps during the day. In fact, a nap of 20 minutes (maximum) allows you to be more alert during the day and does not delay falling asleep in the evening!
  • Exercise, sport being a great remedy for stress! As endorphins are released and tension is relieved, this promotes the onset of deep slow-wave sleep, provided that it is not practiced within 2 to 3 hours before bedtime.
