Urgo K2 is a dual-band compression system designed to stimulate venous return in people prone to venous leg ulcers and chronic venous insufficiency.
Urgo K2 consists of two different bands.
The first band is the Ktech. This white, short-stretch band is made of cotton wool and a compressive fabric. The Ktech band provides compression, protection, and absorption. It is important to ensure it is applied correctly according to the instructions. The Ktech band provides 80% of the required therapeutic pressure.
The second band is the Kpress. This flesh-colored band is made of acrylic, polyamide, and spandex, as well as a cohesive material containing natural latex. The Kpress band holds the wrap in place and provides the additional pressure needed to achieve the required therapeutic pressure.

Application method below the knee (venous leg ulcer or edema): Hold the foot at a 90° angle, toes pointing upward. Apply Ktech (band 1) at the base of the toes, wrapping it around twice to secure it, ensuring that the padded side is in direct contact with the skin and that the pressure indicator is located on the upper side of the band. Continue by wrapping the band in a figure-eight pattern around the ankle, without applying excessive tension to the foot and ensuring the heel is well covered.
Work your way up to the knee using a spiral pattern and stretching the wrap appropriately: the pressure indicator printed on the wraps should form a circle. To ensure proper coverage, the pressure indicator should be just barely covered (50% coverage). Finish 2 cm below the knee and trim off the excess tape. Secure with a band-aid.
Apply Kpress (strip 2) over Ktech (strip 1) using the same technique, starting one finger above Ktech and ending one finger below Ktech so that only Ktech is in direct contact with the skin. Once applied, gently press down on the bandage with your hands to ensure the system stays securely in place.
Application method up to the thigh (edema): If necessary, apply an appropriate bandage to the toes. To apply the bandage up to the thigh, follow the same method as for application below the knee (with the same overlap), but use the following sequence of strips: Apply an 8-cm Ktech strip to the foot (or 10 cm, depending on foot size) and up to the ankle.
Then apply a 10-cm Ktech strip. Stop just above the knee; bend the knee slightly. If necessary and for added comfort, pad the back of the knee with cotton wool.
Continue up to the top of the thigh with a 10 cm or 12 cm Ktech strip (whichever is most appropriate) and secure it in place with medical tape.
Apply Kpress over the Ktech using the same sequence of strips and application method.
Trim off any excess tape. Once applied, gently press down on the bandage with your hands to ensure the system stays securely in place.
Care: UrgoK2 should be left in place day and night until the next dressing change. The UrgoK2 kit is for single use only. Storage: Keep away from heat (max 40°C) and light.
