Urgo K2 dual-band compression system allows you to perform a compression bandage.

What is Urgo K2 dual-band compression system used for?

UrgoK2 is a dual-band compression system designed to stimulate venous return in people prone to venous ulcers located on the legs and chronic venous insufficiency.

UrgoK2 is a system that comes in the form of two different bands.

The first band is the Ktech . White in colour, this short-stretch bandage is designed with wadding and a compressive fabric. The Ktech band provides compression, protection and absorption. It is necessary to take care to put it in place correctly by following the instructions. The ktech tape contributes 80% of the therapeutic pressure needed.

The second band is the Kpress . Flesh-coloured, this band is made of acrylic, polyamide and elastane as well as a cohesive material containing natural latex. The kpress tape holds the bandage in place and provides additional pressure to achieve the necessary therapeutic pressure.

How to properly use Urgo K2 dual-band compression system?

Method of application below the knee (venous leg ulcer or oedema): Hold the foot at 90°, toes upwards. Apply Ktech (Strip 1) to the base of the toes making two turns of the anchor, ensuring that the padded side is in direct contact with the skin and that the pressure indicator is located on the upper side of the bandaged. Continue by making a figure of "8" around the ankle, without applying excessive tension on the foot and covering the heel well.
Go up to the knee by making spirals and stretching the band appropriately: the pressure indicator printed on the bands must form a circle. To obtain a correct coverage, the pressure indicator must be just covered (50% coverage). Finish 2 cm below the knee and cut the excess band. Fix with a plaster.
Apply Kpress (strip 2) over Ktech (strip 1) using the same technique starting one finger above Ketch and finishing one finger below Ktech so that only Ktech is in direct contact with the skin. Once applied, press gently on the bandage with the hands to ensure a good hold of the system.

Method of application up to the thigh (oedema): If necessary, apply a suitable bandage on the toes. To apply the bandage up to the thigh, follow the same method as for the application below the knee (with an identical overlap), but using the following sequence of bandages: Apply an 8 cm Ktech on the foot (or 10 cm depending on the size of the foot) and up to the ankle.
Then apply a 10 cm Ktech. Stop just above the knee; slightly bend the knee. If necessary and for more comfort, pad the back of the knee with wadding.
Continue to the top of the thigh with a 10cm or 12cm Ktech (whichever is most appropriate) and secure in place with tape.
Apply Kpress over Ktech using identical stripe sequence and application method.
Cut the lengths of the excess strips. At the end of application, press gently on the bandage with your hands to ensure that the system holds well.

Maintenance: UrgoK2 must be left in place day and night, until the next dressing change. The UrgoK2 kit is for single use. Storage: away from heat (max 40°C) and light.
