Our advice and expert advice in pharmacy
Constipation regularly disturbs you during your business trips, your stays with friends or at the hotel? Simple ways can help you regulate your transit.
Even if, at home, everything is generally good, the simple fact of changing environment, to adopt a different pace of life, can be enough to make a intestinal transit capricious. And especially slowed down.
It's never pleasant. Bloating, a feeling of heaviness or even abdominal pain often accompany a slow transit. If these symptoms remain benign most of the time, however, avoid sliding to chronic constipation, characterized by infrequent stools (less than three per week) or difficult for at least six months.
Constipation is largely related to our diet. Adopting a high-fiber diet, drinking enough, and exercising allow for the vast majority of situations to overcome constipation or prevent it from occurring.
- The lack of high-fiber foods in the diet (dried fruits, green vegetables, whole grains, legumes ...) is one of the most common risk factors for constipation.
- Foods that can constipate include: bananas, chocolate, white rice, carrots, fiber-poor potato urea, tea, quince, grapes, coconut, oilseeds, cereals and celery.
But changing one's eating habits takes time and is not always enough. A laxative is then useful.
