Our professional advice and the opinions of natural health experts

Knee pain can be so severe that it sometimes requires a change in lifestyle or habits. Whether you're an athlete or a sufferer of arthritis, there are a number of tricks you can use to relieve the pain.

There are two main types of symptoms: pain and stiffness. Pain can be mechanical, meaning it subsides at rest and worsens with movement, or inflammatory. In the latter case, the pain awakens at night. The knee is often swollen, hot and sometimes red. Stiffness causes difficulty with flexion and extension, making walking difficult.
