What is Tensoplast Bande Adhésive BSN used for?

Designed to stabilize without blocking, Tensoplast adhesive tape offers a flexible support solution ideal for preventing or treating joint, tendon, muscle and ligament injuries. Thanks to its lengthwise elastic structure, it provides reliable support while respecting mobility. Athletes and healthcare professionals alike use it on a daily basis to prevent sprains, support tendon pathologies or relieve muscular tension.

In phlebology, Tensoplast is particularly well suited to elasto-compressive treatments. It promotes venous return, helping to reduce oedema and support the management of varicose veins and chronic circulatory disorders. Its carefully-calibrated 50% elasticity ensures controlled, effective compression, while guaranteeing skin comfort over an extended period.

But that's not all. Tensoplast is also highly prized for securely holding dressings or orthopedic devices such as splints. Tensoplast's high immediate and long-lasting adhesion ensures flawless fixation, even in extreme conditions or on highly stressed joint areas. It can be used with great peace of mind in clinical, sports or first-aid contexts.

One of its major assets? Its optimal dermatological tolerance. With its 100% cotton weave, ventilated by striations, and hypoallergenic, latex-free glue, this bandage minimizes the risk of skin irritation, even after several days' wear. It is therefore ideal for both sensitive skin and patients at risk of allergies.

The quality of manufacture is equally impressive: no floating threads thanks to woven selvedges, robust but ventilated support, excellent resistance to stress... Everything is designed to guarantee effective wear over two weeks without compromising the skin's ability to breathe. The dense weave distributes pressure evenly, providing muscle support without a tourniquet effect.

Finally, Tensoplast is a must-have for mixed strapping, particularly in contact sports such as rugby and soccer. Complementing other specialized elasto-compressive bands (such as Strappal or Leukotape), it can be applied as a cross-brace or stirrup, guaranteeing tailor-made joint reinforcement and dynamic support perfectly adapted to body movements.

Tensoplast is a versatile therapeutic tool, as useful in the management of sports injuries as in post-operative care or chronic treatment in phlebology. It is part of a technical, practical and skin-friendly approach to care.

We also offer 3M Coheban Cohesive Elastic Bandage, perfect for securing a joint or reinforcing a strapping.

How do I use this medical compression bandage?

Tensoplast bandages should be applied to clean, dry skin, ideally protected by a compression bandage (such as Tensoban) for sensitive skin. Unroll the bandage without stretching it, and apply it with moderate tension, overlapping each turn by half. The 50% elasticity allows you to control pressure while maintaining comfort and effectiveness. For best hold, start application at the fixed point (often the joint), then wrap in a circular or cross pattern, depending on the desired strapping technique.

Expert advice

As a pharmacy specializing in skincare solutions and natural compression, we recommend incorporating Tensoplast bandages into a prevention or post-trauma recovery routine. It can help stabilize fragile areas, relieve muscular tension or support the circulatory system, depending on individual needs. For complete action, it is ideally used as part of a natural synergy, combined with an active lifestyle, appropriate hydration, and the occasional use of cryotherapy devices or relaxing gels.

For sporting activities, it is often combined with more rigid bands, to strengthen the joint while maintaining functional flexibility. In the case of venous disorders, it can be used as a complement to a broader compression treatment, as recommended by the healthcare professional.
