    Indications
    HEXOMEDINE is a medicine that is a local antiseptic . It is used to provide antisepsis for skin lesions that are infected or at risk of infection.

    Is it essential to respect the expiration dates?
    An antiseptic solution can be significantly contaminated and therefore, in extreme cases, become a cause of infection. A good habit: indicate the opening date on the bottle, because once it has started, the dates of use are quickly forgotten. Hospital infectious disease specialists estimate, roughly speaking, that a month's storage of an alcoholic solution is one month, and an open aqueous solution a maximum of fifteen days.

    Contraindication and warning
    Hypersensitivity to any of the components.

    This medication should not be used in the following cases:

    • on the mucous membranes,
    • on open wounds,
    • for antisepsis of the skin before an injection,
    • for disinfecting medical and surgical equipment.

    Combination with other antiseptics is not recommended because their effects may cancel each other out.

    Breastfeeding: this antiseptic should not be applied to the nipple without medical advice. Thorough rinsing before feeding is essential.

    The solution should not be applied to the mucous membranes (mouth, vagina ...) due to the presence of alcohol.

    1. WHAT IS HEXOMEDINE 1 FOR THOUSAND, a solution for local application AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR?

    This antiseptic belongs to the family of diamidines.

    Antiseptics of small superficial wounds and local treatment of a possible superinfection of the skin.

    2. BEFORE YOU USE HEXOMEDINE 1 FOR THOUSAND, solution for local application?

    Do not use HEXOMEDINE 1 FOR THOUSAND, solution for local application in the following cases:

    · Antiseptic before sampling (puncture, injection).

    · Disinfection of medical and surgical equipment.

    · Allergy to hexamidine derivatives.

    · Do not use on mucous membranes.

    Warnings and Precautions

    Do not use on a large area, under occlusive dressing, on burned skin, premature or infant skin.

    As soon as the bottle is opened, microbial contamination is possible. Be careful not to keep too long an antiseptic vial.
