CRISTAL SUPPOSITOIRES Laxative GLYCERINE NOURRISSONS

What is constipation in babies?
First of all, a baby who has a single bowel movement every day, or even every other day, is not constipated. We can only speak of constipation if stools are rare (less than once every four days), hard, dry (in the form of balls) and emitted with difficulty. Bear in mind that this intestinal problem is common in newborns under 30 days of age. Bottle-fed toddlers are not the only ones affected. In fact, 10-20% of breast-fed babies also suffer from transit problems.

Description of Cristal Suppositoires glycérine for infants

Cristal Suppositoires for infants is a glycerine-based medicine designed to treat constipation in infants. Cristal Suppositoires à la Glycérine Nourrissons is an irritant laxative, recommended for certain forms of constipation and as preparation for certain examinations (rectoscopy).

For infants only.

Cristal children's laxative suppositories are more suitable for children aged 36 months and over.

Glycerine suppositories rapidly evacuate the rectosigmoid by triggering the defecation reflex. This occurs within 5 to 30 minutes of administration. Glycerine stimulates peristaltic movements and reduces water resorption thanks to its osmotic and hygroscopic properties. It also has a local irritant effect, helping to promote reflex defecation.
