The Weleda brand identity

The first Weleda laboratories were founded by doctors Schmiedel, Wegman and Steiner in 1921. They established themselves in Switzerland and Germany.

"Velleda" is a term from Celtic culture. It referred to prophetesses who possessed knowledge of the medicinal virtues of plants and who developed natural remedies.
