What is Biocanina Fiprodog Combo used for?
Fiprodog Combo, created by the Biocanina laboratory, is an external anti-parasite treatment composed of fipronil and S-methoprene. S-methoprene, which acts as a growth regulator, has ovicidal and larvicidal activity, effectively preventing the proliferation of fleas in the environment by neutralizing their eggs, larvae and pupae for up to eight weeks after application to the dog.
This product is specifically designed for dogs from the age of eight weeks and a minimum weight of two kilograms. It is also safe for pregnant and nursing bitches, offering extensive protection tailored to their specific needs. Here are the benefits and uses of Fiprodog Combo in detail:
- Prevention and treatment of flea infestations: Fiprodog Combo provides continuous protection against fleas for a period of eight weeks, allowing both treatment of current infestations and prevention of reinfestations.
- Prevention and treatment of tick infestations: The product is effective against ticks for up to four weeks, thanks to its robust acaricidal activity.
- Environmental control of fleas: S-methoprene helps prevent the multiplication of fleas by inhibiting the development of their eggs, larvae and pupae, contributing to a healthier environment for pets and their families.
- Treatment of chewing lice infestations: Fiprodog Combo also treats chewing lice infestations, offering a complete solution against various external parasites.
- Management of Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD ): Fiprodog Combo can be integrated into a FAD management program, following a veterinarian-confirmed diagnosis, improving the quality of life of susceptible dogs.
Fiprodog Combo Spot-On is specially formulated for dogs. It treats and prevents mixed infestations of fleas and ticks, as well as chewing lice, offering prolonged protection thanks to :
- Persistent insecticidal activity that protects against fleas for eight weeks.
- Inhibition of the development of immature flea stages, which acts on eggs, larvae and pupae for eight weeks, preventing their growth and reproduction in the environment.
- Acaricidal activity against several tick species (Ixodes ricinus, Dermacentor variabilis, Dermacentor reticulatus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus), persisting for up to four weeks.
In short, Biocanina's Fiprodog Combo is a complete and effective solution for the management of external parasites in dogs, contributing to the animal's overall health and owners' peace of mind. This product meets a wide range of parasite control needs, ensuring long-lasting, safe protection for dogs and their environment.

Our advice and expert opinions in Pharmacy
Preventing flea infestations in dogs is crucial to their health and well-being. Here are several strategies to prevent these parasites from becoming a problem for your pet and your household:
Regular treatments with anti-parasite products: Use preventive products recommended by your veterinarian, such as anti-parasite collars, spot-on pipettes, sprays or oral tablets. These treatments should be administered on a regular schedule to ensure ongoing protection.
Hygiene and regular environmental cleaning: Vacuum your home frequently, especially areas where your dog spends a lot of time, such as his basket and sleeping areas. Regularly wash your dog's bedding and fabrics in hot water.
Flea control in the outdoor environment: Treat your garden or outdoor areas frequented by your dog with specific products to eliminate fleas and their larvae. Keep these areas well-maintained to prevent fleas from taking hold.
Regularly check your dog 's coat for fleas and flea droppings, using a specially designed fine-toothed comb. This is particularly important after walks in areas likely to be infested.
Coordination with other pets: If you have several pets, treat them all for fleas. An infestation in one pet can quickly spread to other members of the household.
Veterinary consultation: Discuss with your veterinarian the best prevention strategies for your specific dog, as certain breeds or health conditions may require special approaches.
By taking a proactive approach and incorporating these practices into your regular routine, you can greatly reduce the risk of flea infestation and protect your dog's health as well as the tranquillity of your home.
