What is Docteur Valnet Mountain Savory Organic Essential Oil used for?

Mountain savory essential oil has broad-spectrum antibacterial properties. It is antiviral, antifungal, antiparasitic and anticolibacillary. It is anti-infectious against antibiotic-resistant gram+ and gram- bacteria. This oil is also antigongic, imminostimulant and antioxidant. It is a low-dose percutaneous analgesic, a general tonic and stimulant, and a sexual stimulant. It is mildly antidepressant and stimulates digestive secretions.

A sunny plant, mountain savory (Satureja montana - family Lamiaceae) thrives in the arid soils of the mountainous areas of southern France. Stimulating both physically and mentally, it is widely used in cooking to improve digestion.

Mountain Savory essential oil, certified organic by Dr. Valnet, is recognized for its multiple pharmacodynamic properties, notably in the treatment of bacterial and fungal infections, as well as for its effects on the immune and endocrine systems.

Pharmacological properties :

  • Antibacterial effect: It has a significant anti-infectious action, notably through the disorganization of the bacterial membrane, effective against various genitourinary and gastrointestinal infections. Its ability to counter antibiotic-resistant strains such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhimurium, Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa has been demonstrated.
  • Anti-parasitic: The oil is endowed withanti-parasitic attributes, reinforcing its therapeutic action spectrum.
  • Antifungal effect: It is active against pathogenic fungi, including those involved in candidiasis and aspergillosis, confirming its usefulness in dermatology.
  • Antioxidant: It shows antioxidant activity in vivo, particularly against hydrogen peroxide, and has potential applications in food preservation, such as charcuterie.

Other therapeutic effects:

  • Peristalsis regulation: Promotes healthy intestinal function by regulating peristaltic movements.
  • Microbial balance: destroys pathogenic flora while sparing saprophytic flora, acting as a toxin catcher and drainer.
  • Immune stimulation: It has immunostimulant effects, which can be useful in strengthening natural defenses.
  • Hyperthermia and Hypertension: It has the ability to raise body temperature and blood pressure, which can be beneficial in certain therapeutic settings.
  • Tonic and anti-asthenic action: stimulates the body, helping to combat fatigue and asthenia.
  • Impact on the Autonomic Nervous System: It has a positive effect on the autonomic nervous system.
  • Endocrine action: favourably influences progesterone and adrenal functions.
  • Aphrodisiac: Its use is associated with libido stimulation.
  • Analgesic properties: useful for alleviating localized pain, percutaneous application can provide relief.
  • Mildly antidepressant: may help improve mood and counteract mild depression.
  • Digestive stimulation: It promotes digestive secretions, improving digestion.

This essential oil should be used with caution and under medical supervision, particularly in at-risk individuals, due to its hypertensive and hyperthermia-inducing properties.
