What is Dr Valnet Turpentine Organic Essential Oil 10ml used for?

Turpentine essential oil has anti-catarrhal, expectorant, anti-inflammatory and anti-infectious properties. It is stimulating, oxygenating and rubefacient when used externally.

The essential oil of Bordeaux turpentine (Pinus pinaster - family Abietaceae), supplied by the Pinus pinaster pine, has been used for many years in the preparation of syrups designed to clear the respiratory tract.

Oxygenation and Expectorant effects

Turpentine essential oil, rich in alpha and beta-pinene, stands out for its powerful oxygenating properties. The monoterpenes contained in this essential oil significantly improve oxygen supply to the respiratory and muscular systems, offering greater comfort during physical exertion. It also acts as an effective expectorant and anti-catarrhal. Alpha-pinene, in particular, regulates bronchial hypersecretion, stimulating the mucin glands and helping to expel mucus from the respiratory tract, making breathing easier and freeing the bronchi.

Antiseptic and stimulant properties

As an antiseptic, turpentine oil actively disinfects the respiratory and urinary tracts. The alpha-pinene it contains inhibits the development of pathogenic bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae. This action is reinforced by the presence of other monoterpenes, such as beta-pinene, increasing its effectiveness. In terms of stimulation, the monoterpenes (alpha and beta-pinene) in this oil have a cortison-like action, activating the adrenal glands to produce glucocorticoids with anti-inflammatory and tonic properties, thus improving energy metabolism.

Secondary benefits

In addition to these main properties, Turpentine essential oil also offers secondary benefits. It is effective as an anti-parasitic, helping to combat various parasites, and has anti-rheumatic properties, making it useful in the treatment of pain and inflammation associated with rheumatic disorders.

The aromatherapy laboratory Dr Valnet also offersthyme linalol essential oil at the best price in our online pharmacy.
