Chronobiane LP is a melatonin-based food supplement that reduces sleep time. It is suitable in case of difficulty in falling asleep, jet lag and ensures a good quality of sleep.
What is melatonin?
Melatonin is a hormone produced by the pineal gland (also called epiphysis). The secretion of melatonin is inhibited in the presence of light and stimulated when dark. By secreting melatonin, the pineal gland "says" to the brain that it is dark and that this is the right time to sleep. The melatonin synthesis reaches a peak between 2 and 4 am and then decreases during the second half of the night to prepare the awakening. In some individuals, this message no longer works correctly, causing difficulties in falling asleep or shifting sleeping moments. A deficiency is created, it is then necessary to rebalance the contribution to:
- reduce sleep time in people who have difficulty sleeping. The beneficial effect is obtained by the consumption of 1 mg of melatonin before bedtime.
- mitigate the effects of jet lag (for example, a trip through several time zones). The beneficial effect is achieved by consuming at least 0.5 mg of melatonin before bedtime on the first day of the trip and the few days following the day of arrival.
Difficulties of falling asleep :

For continuous use over several months, medical advice is advised.
Jet lag :
From ½ to 1 tablet per day, to swallow with a glass of water.
The beneficial effect is achieved by consuming at least 0.5 mg just before bedtime on the first day of the trip and the days following arrival at the destination (4 to 8 days).

Tips for sleeping better:

Prefer slow sugars that digest gently throughout the night, avoid fat and alcohol, eat at least 2h before bed.
- Avoid screens that are exciting and privileged reading. Half an hour before bedtime, turn off your screens and choose a novel!
- Drink an infusion: linden, orange blossom, valerian, chamomile ... as many choices as possible to help you find a quick and restful sleep.
If you do not see an improvement in your sleep in spite of the melatonin intake, you may have to look further for the amino acids, especially Tryptophan, which is the metabolic precursor of serotonin, which itself is a precursor of melatonin. If there is a deficiency in this amino acid, despite the melatonin supplementation the message to the brain will not be able to pass.
